Single Flash Assignment

MU student Casey Stuck takes a break from studying to share some love with his two-year-old dog, Fonzie, who he adopted from the Central Missouri Human Society in July 2010.

This is how I did it:


I wanted to create a softer light to portray a more light-hearted mood, so I bounced the flash off a white ceiling, holding my hand behind the flash to provide a bit of fill on their faces.


Leann McLaughlin and Dan Sheehan perform improv during Comedy Wars, a comedy troupe started by MU student Todd Geritz in 1999 . Comedy Wars is held at 9:30 pm every Wednesday in Bengal Lair, located in MU's Memorial Union.

This is how I did it:


I couldn't get extremely close to the subjects, and because the distance the light from my flash would've had to travel was too great, I used direct flash.

Metal and Glass

My part of the assignment was metal:



Making shots can get messy, especially after having a few. And there is a kind of science to mixing a successful shot, involving tedious measurements. Even a half jigger too much of one ingredient can turn a seemingly tasty drink into a nasty concoction.
